Spilman Dentistry

On short notice, Dr Jeff Spilman, worked me in on a Friday afternoon to repair a broken tooth. He made sure I had a painless experience. I could not be happier with his work and would recommend him highly. I also need to add that is staff was very helpful in returning my phone calls to arrange the appointment. Spilman Dentistry is a great team.

ADORE Dr. Spilman, et. al. Up north, it is easy to find a dentist who works on Saturdays and late afternoons throughout the week. In Florida, not so easy. So the first week I was in St. Pete, I noticed his sign out front and the fact that he had the above hours and I have been going to him ever since. I really liked the secretary he had when I first started with him... she left and he hired another. I personally did not think he would have success hiring not one but TWO great office people but he managed it. I walk in.. I don't have to sign in but I would if I had to and I'm greeted within minutes. I call and I'm not just a name.

I get in and out.... none of this waiting around to be seen making you think that maybe somebody is double booking. And how many dentists would not hesitate to submit a design for a crown?

He has a nice squirrel feeder too.

I made an appointment with Dr. Spilman about 3 weeks before. I showed up 5 minutes early for my appointment and waited there for 35 minutes. Finally the hygenist came out and said I would have to wait another 20 minutes to see the dentist. I didn't see any other patients in the office during this time. No one coming or going. My time is important too. I hate when business owners do not care for and disrespect their customers.

Not a great experience unfortunately. I was not informed by the front office that they were NOT IN NETWORK. I paid up front and was only reimbursed a portion. Other dentists that I was calling around same time said: "We are not in network". I learned the hard way that when the front desk told me that "We accept your insurance" does not mean "in network".

Another thing, I noticed calling other dentists, is that they inform you verbally, not just on the bottom of some form in tiny print- of the fact that due to the COVID, a fee for PPE is incurred that is payable by the patient and not covered by insurance.

Unfortunately, not everyone, like me, understands dental insurance. It's better practice to inform patients of unprecedented charges verbally over the phone prior to the appointment and also, it is better to say "We are not in network" as opposed to a general statement such as "We accept your insurance". After speaking with the practice about my experience, it was evident that they don't care, they got paid already.

This is a top notch dental office in every measurable way.

More specifically, Nicole at the front desk is efficient, positive and excellent at communication...I will go so far as to say she is the best front desk person I have ever encountered at a health care office of any kind. She was critical in my choosing this office for my dental needs (the person who was doing the front desk job previously simply blew me off, never replied, and did not seem remotely interested in new patients).

The whole office just has a "good vibe"...everyone seems to love their jobs. My hygienist was amazing and patient as well.

Pricing here is very competitive and very much on target (or below) industry averages...I recommend Dr Spliman's office with all of my heart.

Dentist visits are not fun, but this place gives me a reason to look forward to them!

I tried for three weeks to get and appointment and find out if they except my insurance. I made six calls, each time being told someone would get back with me. I'm basically writing this review because I'm hoping to get a response to why it would take over three weeks to find out if you except my insurance. I can't review on any internal happenings. I can say, they must not need the business or the need to train they're employees better. Wish I could sat

Dr. Spilman was efficient, professional, friendly, and personable. The same goes for the staff I met. They were careful about Covid protocol as well. I really could not have asked for a better experience.

I had a toothache and needed immediate relief. I called the office and I got an appointment within a few hours. I met with Dr Spilman and immediately put at ease. He and his staff were extremely nice and accommodating. I was pleased to have been given choices on how to remedy my condition along with the prices. The work was completed painlessly. The price was competitive and I would highly recommend this dentist. He'll be doing all my dental work from now on but I really hope I don't ever have to see him again. Lol

I have been going to Dr. Spilman for 18 years now and wouldn't dream of going to anyone else! Staff is professional and the office is on time with appointments! Dr. Spilman greets me with a smile, he's patient, and always takes the time to explain options and procedures. I know I'm receiving the best care possible. I highly recommend this dental office! A+ across the board!

Jeff is awesome! Caring, saves money, and a great experience over all. The dental hygienist is incredibly good with her bedside manner, by keeping me calm throughout the cleaning!
