On June 30th, Burlington County kicked off the construction of the Route 130 Bypass at Crystal Lake Park.

At 5.5 miles, the 130 Bypass segment of the Delaware River Heritage Trail will be the longest Circuit Trails segment to be constructed since an eight-mile section of the Chester Valley Trail was completed in 2013. The trail begins in Bordentown Township, winds through Crystal Lake Park and then uses the alignment of the Kinkora Trail until it reaches the Roebling Museum in Florence Township.

By August 1st the construction crew had already graded two miles of trail in Crystal Lake Park and along Axe Factory Rd. The more complicated sections will be where the trail will run under Route 130 and where it will cross the RiverLINE tracks just north of the Roebling Station.
