Understanding the “How” and “Why” in how large and small local businesses give to nonprofits, both funds and employee volunteers; different structures of giving based on ownership, customer markets, etc.; How to identify alignment and fit with a nonprofit, how to educate and solicit, and effective practices for gift stewardship.

Instructor:

JHornJill Horn joined Brown-Forman in 2014. As Director, Global Community Relations, she is responsible for leading the company's civic engagement strategy in Louisville, Kentucky, and places Brown-Forman has a presence around the world. In her role as Executive Director, Brown-Forman Foundation, she strives to bring the foundation's vision of delivering transformative community impact to life. Prior to Brown-Forman, she worked for United Way for 19 years, where she was involved in annual fundraising campaigns that cumulatively raised over five hundred million dollars. In her most recent position as Sr. Director of Community Giving she led a team of dedicated professionals focused on corporate, individual, and foundation relations. Jill graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in Political Science. She is a member of the Center for Nonprofit Excellence Board of Directors and the Simmons College of Kentucky Board of Trustees. She has continued her professional development journey through Leadership Louisville programs, the CSR Board, and participated in the Bloomberg-Harvard City Leadership Initiative in 2018. Jill enjoys spending time with friends and family and traveling to places near and far. She lives in Louisville with her husband, Jerome, and two daughters, Abby and Zoe.
